his image was taken at the "Window," the sole pour-off for Big Bend's Basin region in the center of the Chisos Mountains. The hiking trail from the Basin Campground descends into a progressively narrowing canyon, terminating in a mere 8 foot wide slot in the face of a sheer cliff. You can stand or sit on the very precipice and view the incredible desert panorama beyond. The desert floor is well over a hundred feet straight down from this perch.
