his image was taken on the South Rim of the Grand Canyon just prior to sunset. The low angle of the sunlight allowed the shadows of the photographer and his fellow gawkers to fall upon a large rock beyond the protective railing. Although entering into the canyon itself by flying over the rail is not a particularly safe activity, their shadows seemed to make it OK with a minimum of risk.
